“ I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to La Viuda Negra Cantina for an unforgettable experience! The food was absolutely incredible—each dish was a perfect blend of flavors and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and made us feel right at home. The drinks were exceptional, crafted with such care and creativity. They truly added an extra sparkle to our celebration. What made the night truly special, though, was the attention to detail from the staff. Thank you, La Viuda Negra Cantina, for going above and beyond to make our celebration memorable. It was an evening we’ll treasure for a long time, and we can’t wait to return! ”
“ We went here for dinner before a concert and had an amazing time. Fun and fancy cocktails with nice combinations. I tried a few of the cocktails and they were all great! The food was great. Huge portions and flavors. The queso fundido was great. The steam was amazing. Everything was tasty. Friendly staff. Nice, upscale interior. ”
“ Ordered carne asada one of the best I have tried here in G.A. I travel all over the united states. My kids do wrestling and we go out to eat and all way looking for good food and great hospitality. We will definitely be stopping by again. ”
“ Great Mexican right opposite gas south arena and theater. It’s easy to miss as the location is behind other restaurants but a must go Ambience is great and so is the service Their drinks are pretty good too but more on the side Food was great ... quantity was just ok for the price but the taste flavor was great. Great place for a date night or a girls night out! Get the grilled jalapenos spicy but yummmmmmy ”
“ The service was awesome! Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. The food was delicious and the drinks were yummy! We will definitely be returning to try more items on the menu. The chips and queso were a favorite and the shrimp queso taco. ”
“ Hands down, best Mexican food we have had since leaving San Diego! We were going to eat at a pub style restaurant next door, but decided at the last minute that we wanted Mexican food. I am so glad we did because this place was legit. It was a bit higher scale then your average Mexican places, but the prices were still fair. The restaurant had a very cool "Day of the Dead/sugar skull" atmosphere. We arrived fairly early (around 4:40) because we had an event to attend after dinner. They were not busy yet and most of their staff had not arrived for dinner service, so we were seated and served by one of the bar tenders. He was great and very attentive to our needs. We ordered queso w/chorizo dip, empanadas, pork carnitas (get the corn tortillas because they are made in-house and were fantastic), and margaritas. The margaritas were so fresh as we literally watched our waiter hand squeezing limes to get ready for dinner service between checking in on us. The food was just amazing! We can not wait until our next visit to this area to eat here again! We will definitely try the carne asada next time because that also looked amazing! ”
“ Outstanding. Service was exceptional some of the best services I've experienced in years. Friendly always making sure we were taken care of. The food was amazing. I just need to go back and try the other options, but the carnitas was out of this world. ”
“ If I could give a 6, I would. This place had a wonderful atmosphere—beautifully decorated with excellent customer service. Despite the weather and the staffing situation, the management and staff ensured every guest was well taken care of. We've never experienced such attentive service. The waitstaff even apologized for not being able to chat more with us and offered sincere apologies multiple times. The food was equally impressive. It’s a cantina with a large bar, and though we didn’t drink, they have a great variety and can make anything you like. They offer typical dishes with unique variations, and what we tried was excellent. The chicken soup was very tasty, as were the chicken fajitas and hamburgers. The fries that came with the hamburgers were delicious. A special thanks to all the staff and management for being open on the day of the snowstorm. We were fortunate to find such a warm, welcoming place with excellent service that truly made our day. ”
